Frequently Asked Questions
What factors determine which crane I should hire?
The right crane depends on your load weight, size, lift height, site access, terrain, and the space available for setup. Understanding these details helps operators recommend equipment that can safely handle your lift. Providing accurate project information ensures you receive the most suitable crane for efficient and safe operation.
How early should I book a crane for my project?
It’s best to book at least one to two days in advance to secure the equipment and operator you need. Busy periods or larger lifts may require earlier scheduling. If unexpected work arises, contacting the hire provider promptly increases your chances of securing short-notice availability.
What safety measures should be in place before a lift?
A lift should begin with a risk assessment, site inspection, and clear communication between all personnel. Ground conditions must be stable, exclusion zones established, and weather monitored. Proper planning, load assessments, and adherence to safety procedures ensure the lifting process remains controlled, compliant, and hazard-free.
Choose a Crane to Meet Your Project Requirements
Statewide Lift & Shift has Franna cranes available for hire in Mackay and surrounding suburbs. Franna cranes are highly manoeuvrable and capable of lifting and carrying heavy loads. If you need a versatile pick-and-carry crane for your next industrial, commercial or residential job, a franna crane is an excellent choice.
For projects that don't have much area, consider our 55t All-Terrain Demag. This crane is designed to manage confined spaces, lifting heavy items in close or lighter items out further, continually calculating its available capacity throughout the operation to maximise efficiency and safety.
The Demag can lift up to 55 tonnes and can travel across a wide range of terrain to get to the area where it can be set up to lift. It is also road registered, making transport between worksites simple and efficient. The Demag, like most of slew cranes, needs a permit to get to some areas due to its weight, so please allow us time to process the route to your location as we may need to get additional permits.
